Transport Security Layer (TLS)

TLS (Transport Layer Security) is a protocol for encrypting data that is sent over the Internet and other computer networks.

As standard, CacheFly offers a choice between a:

  • Standard TLS Profile using TLS version 1.2. This is the default choice and is suitable for many applications and devices.

  • Compatible TLS profile using TLS version 1.0+. For applications or devices that require an older version of TLS.

You can set the TLS profile for individual CacheFly services. See more on creating and managing a service.

Setting the TLS Profile

To set the TLS Profile for a specific service, first navigate to the SETTINGS for that service (Configuration > Services > [SERVICE NAME] > SETTINGS in the left-hand menu).

  • In the Settings screen, click on the field for the TLS profile.

  • In the popup that appears, click on the TLS profile that you want, so that a check mark appears at the left of that TLS profile.

  • Once the TLS profile is selected, click Apply Changes at the bottom of the page.

  • A message is displayed briefly at the top right of the screen to confirm TLS profile updated with success.
