Using ProtectServe

You can use ProtectServe URL signing to control access to your content. This allows you to limit access to your content by time and/or IP address. A ProtectServe Key is used for signing URLs.

For example, you may have a paywall on your website where visitors can only access content if they are logged in or have previously paid for access. You can generate a URL for the content and sign it with the ProtectServe Key. Cachefly will only serve the content if the signed URL is valid.

There are two actions required to use ProtectServe with a CacheFly service and content objects served by that service:

  • Set up the ProtectServe URL for each object or directory of objects

  • Enable ProtectServe for the service.

ProtectServe is for use with individual CacheFly services. See more on creating and managing a service.
